FS: Ampico Rolls by Leo Podolsky Available Again
By Michael Swanson

In 1984 the legendary Russian pianist Leo Podolsky recorded 10 rolls
for an AMICA project. Spearheaded by Bob Taylor, the Chicago Chapter
of AMICA issued a limited set of the rolls coded for the Ampico,
perforated by the Tonnessen's (Custom Music Rolls), first in 1986
and again in 1987. They will be available once again, as Dean Howe
and I have received permission from Bob Taylor and the Chicago Chapter
of AMICA to reissue the complete set of 10 rolls.

You can read the history of this project in a very well-written
article by Bob Taylor, who did the major part of coding these rolls
for the Ampico. Go to this link:
  http://www.amica.org/Live/Organization/Honor-Roll/podolsky.htm

We will reissue them as a 10-roll set coded to play on both the Ampico
A or B just as they were first made in 1986. This time they will be
perforated by Bob Billings of Sierra Music Rolls. If you are interested
in a set of these historic performances and are not on our mailing
list, please send an email to mikeswanson@rocketmail.com.geentroep
[delete ".geentroep" to reply]. Don't wait another 24 years for these
rolls to be available again!
