Gulbransen "Fishing Pole" Tracking Mechanism
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, Regarding Douglas' posting, I checked the S & C service manual
and it shows a 'Brand-type' mechanical tracker with the friction wheel
on the left side of the spoolbox.

All of the components of the Gulbransen tracker, with the exception of
the 'fishing-pole' (which is mounted on the air motor), are located in
the transmission, on the right side of the spoolbox.

For your information, I was stimulated to start the quest for more
information because Bing Gibbs contacted me about a problem he's having
with the mechanism. What might also be very helpful in this situation
are close-up pictures of the transmission, from various viewpoints.

To be specific, we are looking to determine the exact location of every
part in the system. None of the diagrams I have are clear enough to
see "everything", and that's why I am searching for the patent.

Musically,
John A Tuttle
