Ku Klux Klan Piano Rolls
By Mike Walter

John McClelland was recently inquiring about Ku Klux Klan piano
rolls which still may be around. Maybe 30 years ago I picked up
a roll entitled the "Ku Klux Steppin' Blues".

The publisher and owner was Harry F. Windle, who had a "Lock
Box", probably at a local post office, to guard his privacy. The
attached picture is a JPEG file, so it can be enlarged in a photo
editor program. The roll itself has a nice melody line, but the
words are objectionable. The roll is being kept as an historical
document, and not as a promotional tool.

Best wishes,
Mike Walter
