Re: ADs (Mechanical Music Digest 96.09.25)
By Pete Woodworth

Hi, Jody.
In my opinion, ads are to be considered *announcements*, as
distinguished from *discussion*, which your MMD forum here excells at.

An FTP-formatted venue would probably be more appropriate for
*announcements* and might not be such a booger to maintain, if the
messages were automatically removed after x-amount of days...

Could you have messages with the subject headings:
• FS:
or WTB:
•automatically be inserted into an FTP directory? Also, as an
established business, I would be interested in paying a small monthly
fee for a standing two-line 'ad' in an FTP directory, much like the
AMICA Journal or telephone directory. It could link to my own 'web
pages.

I'm not bothered by occasional ads as part of messages.¶
Thanks for all of your work.¶
