Transcribing Music Box to Midi
By John A. Tuttle

Hi, This is probably going to sound really stupid. First, I haven't
tried it and secondly, it's not my field but I've been trying to visualize
how one might take a music box cylinder and convert it to a usable format
for MIDI. What came to mind is so simple that it probably will work.
Why not get some graph paper and an ink roller. Take the ink roller and
'ink' the tines then roll the cylinder over the graph paper. You could
even go one step further and actually punch tiny holes in the paper, put
the resultant 'holy paper' into an enlarger and you get a player piano
roll. :-)
