Destruction of Player Pianos
By Deane Wiley

Just a note to add to the excellent statement by Joyce Brite:
Living quarters!

The population of this country, at least in well-populated areas,
includes hundreds of thousands of apartment dwellers! The player
piano does not have much of a future in most apartment buildings
because of, e.g., size, moving vertically, and loudness of playing.
Despite new figures showing single family home ownership constantly
growing, even these homes do not lend themselves to the size and
volume aspects of a player piano.
