Well, to be honest, nowadays there is no reason except money or
nostalgia (well known in MMD-ranks) to use an older computer operating
system.  If you do want the best results you do want the best software.
That never means an older version -- not in case of an operating
system, not in case of an application software.

Once upon a time, the computers based on the 16/32-bit Motorola 68000
processor and accompanying 16- bit (brand-bound) operating systems
(MAC, and Atari and Commodore as well) were miles ahead of Intel
8086/8088 machines running under 8-bit DOS-versions.  And beyond that
they were better priced, too.  However, since at least the Intel 80486
and Windows, that advantage is gone.

In the USA the Macintosh is more widespread than in Europe.  Over
here the MAC is hardly found nowadays except, indeed, in graphics
surroundings.  One of the reasons for that is that the graphics world
(based, in fact, directly on the work of monks copying books) is slow
to adopt new techniques. ... As is the average MMD-member???

Everything you can do on a Macintosh you can do on a Windows-machine.
By far, not all you can do on a Windows-machine can be done on a MAC.
So still using a Mac is handicapping yourself, in a way.  ;D

The Mac once was a miracle, thanks to Steve Jobs, but above all its
developer, Steve Wozniak.  But miracles don't last forever...
