Unusual Baldwin Piano
By John Dewey

If this is what I think it is, it is a Baldwin Electropiano. I just
finished working on one last month. The action is not quite like a
drop action in that the hammers hang below the hammer butts and
several other pieces are different. To work on the action you take
off the back cover and the plate, pin bloc, strings assembly lifts
out of the piano. If you haven't worked on one before there are
several tricks to getting at the various parts. I have a technicians
service manual for this piano and found it quite helpful. I thought
it had a nice tone and the ability to play it with ear phones was a
real plus to my client since they have a new baby.
