Prospect Park Carousel Organ Is Fixed
By Michael McNamara

The band organ on the Prospect Park Carousel in Brooklyn, NY, has been
fixed, thanks to John Rutoskey. Mr. Rutoskey visited the carousel on
Sunday (he was suppose to come Saturday, but because of the torrential
rains the carousel closed at 2 PM) and he fixed the problem with the
roll frame. He also took the snare drum beaters home with him to
recover the pneumatics.

Mr. Rutoskey is going to return the snare drum pneumatics to the organ
in a few weeks. When he returns he is going to put the snare drum
beaters back in place, replace the spring on the bass drum, and give
the organ a tune up. I can't wait to hear the organ after it is tuned!

I would like to thank everyone who helped with the getting organ playing
again. The people at the carousel really missed the organ and are
happy to have it back.
