Prospect Park Carousel Organ in Brooklyn, NY
By Vincent Morgan

AMICA to the rescue! Members of the Lady Liberty Chapter of AMICA have
taken on the project of getting the Prospect Park carousel organ up and
running again. The organ was inspected today and, for not having been
serviced in 14 years, it is in remarkable shape.

The problem is that the roll in the right side spool frame will play
the last two songs and then switch to the left roll. That is as it is
supposed to be. Then half way into the first song of the left roll,
the switch reverses again and the right roll again begins to play the
last two tunes.

Those of us who were there today (Tuesday) checked it out and decided
to call in others who were not available on such short notice. We only
had a very limited time to look today. More will be done later this
week. Anyway, it will soon be up and running.

In the meantime I gave them a CD of Bill Edgerton's Gavioli as a backup,
which they cheerfully accepted.
