The carousel operator is Lucio Shiavone, a native of Naples, Italy.
He has been operating the Prospect Park Carousel for 13 years.  He was
one of the main people involved in the restoration of the carousel and
he still paints and cleans the horses.

Lucio is an artist and he is very well known by people who often ride
the Prospect Park carousel.  He is a very cheerful person and always
greets the little children when they ride the carousel.

Another person also involved with the Prospect Park carousel is Margaret
Ring.  She is curator of the carousel and the head of the concessions
at Prospect Park.  She works at the concession stand, which is located
in the carousel pavilion, and she also sells tickets to ride the
carousel.  She has been involved with the carousel for about six years
and she is a very nice lady.
