Prospect Park Carousel Organ in Brooklyn, NY
By Richard Winn

Wait a moment. I thought that both roll frames weren't moving at all.
I remember when the carousel operator put my roll in and turned on the
organ, the left roll frame wouldn't move, then the right one would
still run. Then when Mike got to the carousel, both roll frames
stopped working. I'm a bit confused. Now it's running slightly?

[ Vincent Morgan reported that the Wurlitzer 153 organ hasn't been
[ serviced for 14 years. The Wurlitzer unit valves which control the
[ roll transport mechanism are known to be erratic, especially when
[ the instrument is exposed to climate extremes. Therefore one
[ cannot reliably predict the behavior of the organ from one day
[ to the next, almost! After 14 years with no maintenance, all the
[ control valves, gaskets, control pneumatics, gears and linkages
 [ need some servicing.
 [
[ I'm sure all the different behavior reported is true, but the only
[ safe conclusion is that the organ desperately needs attention, as
 [ Michael said. -- Robbie
