Mechanical Music on TV
By Leslie Hoffman

A while back we were talking about films or television that had
musical instruments in view. I was watching the Twilight Zone
Marathon and had forgotten about the episode called "A Piano in
the House".

The story line (real quick) is, as a roll is played, a person in
the room would act that way, like "Smile". Though they say in the
story line that this is an old piano, it is or has been electrified.
I could see an Ampico box on top of the piano and the roll that
the "not so nice" person rips up is definitely a reproducing roll.
Whether this is true or just a location the director wanted it to be,
the rewind button is up in the spool box.

Happy New Year Everyone!
