Mechanical Music on TV
By Andrew Lardieri

Happy 2019 to one and all of my friends in the mechanical music world!
To start things off in the new year I thought that I would post this
thing that I discovered recently in an episode of "Mister Ed: The
Talking Horse".

In the episode entitled "Ed's Diction Teacher", Wilbur Post (played by
the extremely talented Alan Young) and his wife Carol are at a carnival
playing a typical balloon pop with darts game while trying to win a
stuffed horse which is offered as a prize in the game. Throughout
the beginning portion of this scene the foxtrot "Pretending", by Al
Sherman, can be heard in the background being played at a sluggish
tempo and out-of-tune on either a Wurlitzer 105 or an Artizan style
X-A-1 band organ. A Looff carousel, similar to the one in Spokane,
Washington, can also be seen for a split second:

P.S.: More posts are coming throughout the entire new year.
