MBSI Video "Marvels of Mechanical Music"
By Ralph Schack

In MMD 080226 Don Shenbarger infers that the MBSI Video, "Marvels of
Mechanical Music", was funded out of "dues from membership." The
project was actually funded primarily by some $68,000 of donations.
While Don was not supportive of the project, obviously those who
contributed so generously feel otherwise. Although the project went
over budget, sales of the video which now approach $10,000 will
eventually offset the shortfall.

Though it is yet to be broadcast in its entirety the video was largely
responsible for a segment about mechanical music on CBS Sunday Morning.
And the video has been split into 8 chapters which can now be seen on
YouTube. The introductory chapter has had more than 2400 viewings.
