Building a Player Reed Organ
By Duaine Hechler

Ever since I rebuilt my first reed organ (and player piano),
I have a drive to turn a regular reed organ into a player reed
organ. (YouTube entries of the Aeolian players have just pushed
me on even more.)

- Is there plans for this?
- Would it would be based on the player piano design?
- Would I need a Tempo regulator to play regular piano rolls?
- What would be the starting place for such a project?
- How would the keys and/or pallet valves be activated?
- Would player piano style valves come into play?
- Do any patent drawings exist?

Or would it be easier to start from scratch?

Thank you for any help,

P.S.: My ultimate dream is to own a Tangley calliope or a small
band organ. (Of course, money being the obstruction on this one,
I'll gladly accept restorable donations.)
