The world of mechanical music has lost one of its legendary members.
Siegfried Wendel, from Rüdesheim, Germany, passed on October 10 after
a brief illness.  Siegfried was larger than life itself and celebrated
life and mechanical music with gusto.  He was the ultimate entertainer
with a bass voice that resonated through the beer halls of Rüdesheim
and elsewhere.  His knowledge of mechanical music was incomparable and
the kindness and humor he showed will be missed by all.  Our sincere
condolences to the entire Wendel family from members of the Carousel
Organ Association of America.
