Siegfried Wendel was the personification of mechanical music
enthusiasm.  In (always animated) conversation, his eyes seemed to
emerge from their sockets and his hair seemed to signal ships at sea!
I never forgot the brief times we met over the years, and how much he
contributed to this curious field of interest.

"Genieße das Leben ständig!  Du bist länger tot als lebendig!"

"Constantly enjoy life!  You're longer dead than alive!",
a German toast.
