In the latest J. Acoust. Soc. Am., 98, 2413, is the article, Expressive timing in Schumann's "Traumerei;" an analysis of performances by graduate students; Bruno H. Repp, Haskins Laboratories, 270 Crown Street, New Haven, CT 06511-6695.
This LARGE article discusses statistical analysis of expressive timing patterns of performances by ten grad students played on a Disclavier. A previous study of acoustic recordings of the piece by 24 famous pianists [B.H.Repp, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 92,2546-2568 (1992)] provided "expert" timing data for comparison.
