Repair Tape
By Ron Babb

In response to the question of a few days previous, I have used Filmoplast "P" archival tape for roll repair the last nine or ten years.  It seems to be far superior to 3M Magic tape as it is very tissue thin, repositionable before burnishing, acid free and long lived.  It is made by Hans Neschen Gmbh and is available through University Products.  Their address and telephone number is:

    University Products
    517 Main Street
    P.O. Box 101
    Holyoke, MA.  01041-0101
    (800) 762-1165

It is not cheap, $20.95 in the '94 catalog but I have repaired hundreds of piano rolls and am still on the first roll of tape. There are several of us up here in the Great Northwest using this product and none have had any problem.  Hope this helps.
