Dear Robbie,
Thank you for accepting me on the mailing list. I just read through the
past one month or so mails and found them very interesting indeed.
There is a diverse people and it is amazing what everyone is doing !
One of the candidate project I have is to build a reader for the QRS
rolls which will drive directly my piano with Pianocorder equipped with
cassette. I have not started that yet. Something you are working out
with optical sensor is what I may be thinking of. The next step might
be MIDI but I am not yet familiar nor ever tried that yet.
Now, concerning the project you gave me, what I can do relatively soon
is to take a copy of the lyrics and try to run through my scanner with
Japanese character recognition. Frankly, I have never used the OCR
software to date (I always store the scanned data in a bit map format
simple and easy) The scanner on my desk is HP scanjet 5s. If that does
not work, I will then take the copy to search around my colleagues who
might have a professional scanner with Japanese character recognition
software.
I will let you know the status within an week.
Regards, Shin Ohkura ohkura@ti.com
