   Hi My name is Brian, I am a humble collector of things mechanical
which includes antique clocks of various descriptions and music boxes
both cylinder and disc/K ? I also have a couple of musical clocks. I
used to be in the business of antique restoration [french polishing,
veneering, turning etc.etc] I used to leave  most of the mechanics to
dealer friends I had in S.Aust. I did  dabble with restoration of music
boxes with varying amounts of success and failure I have successfully
done partial cylinder repinning and disc/k repairs

   I have several books on the art of restoration of which I would be
happy to impart the info thereof.  One discussion I used to become
embroiled in and would be interested to glean others comments on was
how far can one go with restoration and the item still be classed as an
Antique, especially with regards to mechanical things! which must in my
opinion be operating 100%. my main interest is to exchange ideas and
opinions in the repair..restoration and maintenance of the above.
