A number of you have noticed that the FTP archive is not always up
to date. Often I bring it up to date upon request from a subscriber
(or a new subscriber). These updates have been happenning only
every 2 to 4 weeks.
With much thanks to Robbie Rhodes, I've had some extra time to work
on this problem, and I think we've arrived at a fix. The FTP
archive now gets updated automatically by the process that sends
the digest. This includes updating the .zip file for the
current month. The files are available in both "DOS" and "Unix"
format. For "Unix" format (long file names, <LF> seperators
between lines in the file):
ftp://ftp.foxtail.com/pub/automatic-music/digests/digest.yy.mm.dd
substitute year, month, day
For "DOS" format (8.3 filenames, <CR><LF> between lines in the files:
ftp://ftp.foxtail.com/pub/automatic-music/digests.dos/yymmdd.txt
substitute year, month, day
Zipped digest archives are available (must be transferred in binary mode):
ftp://ftp.foxtail.com/pub/automatic-music/digests.dos/yymm.zip
substitute year, month
As before, there's also a directory of miscellaneous files:
ftp://ftp.foxtail.com/pub/automatic-music/misc
Thanks to all of you for your encouragement to keep me going, and to
Robbie for giving me some relief so I can work on the programming a
little more.
