Universal/ R22A
By John A. Tuttle

Greeting from the Shore,

I located a schematic of the Model P-2 Universal in Senaca, PA. John Omiatek has 6 of the original 8 pages of a hand drawn schematic of the board. It seems that R22A is a load resistor with a value of 5.6 ohms/ 2 watt.

I don't want to get off on a rant here but if anyone ever needed any justification for steering people away from "the new and improved" electronic players, this is just another case in point. First the Pitman roll motor burns out, then three days after it's replaced (not cheap) the control board just quits (not going to be cheap). Compared to the cost of a simple five-chamber air motor and AM govenor which will be rebuildable for the next two-hundred years. Where's the logic?

BTW, my thnaks to Larry Fisher for the info.

Musically, John Tuttle
