The digest is whatever we want it to be (IMHO). Since Jody is not
"sponsored" by AMICA, MBSI, ATOS or whatever, there is no conflict of
interest or prohibition by by-laws with respect to advertising. It's
been a long time since "Acceptable Use" policies controlled the
majority of the internet.

I read this digest for a variety of reasons -- technical content,
reports of interesting instruments and, yes, the messages that
advertise items related to automatic music. I hope the list will be
used to bring this information together in one place rather than make
us go to yet another list (Automatic- Music-Ads ?) for commercial and
private advertising.

There is enough moderation in the list to ensure that advertising will
not be abusive.

There are people who feel that even compilations of lists, such as the
sources for rolls and the growing list of sources for monkey organs, is
"advertising". I think that information that benefits the readers
(users) of the list is fair game for the list -- even if a side effect
is to give a free ad to some supplier.
