I'm finishing up a Welte Brisgovia "A" that I partally restored several
years ago. At that time the only lead tubing, (which was 100% lead),
I could find was though Erie Pipe Organ supply. I was never
satisfied with what I received from them. After six years it looks
terible and it is too soft. The smaller sizes leading to the pipes and
Xylophone collapsed under thier own weight, thus many notes ceased
to play. I have just replaced the smaller tubing with brass. I
fired it to take out the temper, and the brass tubing is almost as
pliable as the lead. I would like to find a source of lead alloy
tubing (Zinc and/or Tin) in larger sizes (1/4" , 3/8",1/2", or
metric equivalant) that is a little more ridgid than the pure lead
stuff. Can someone help me out?
Thank you.

[ Mike Ames had a batch of lead tubing custom made when he

[ know other's experiences in this area.
