Are sure that was 6000 visits or was it 6000 hits. It's very hard to determine the actual number of visits since one visitor can easily be counted as 10 hits depending upon how they cruise around your site. My business has done pretty well too. However I'm very critical of the numbers that are bounced around even from my own server. I've heard somewhere that even showing up on someone's search without them visiting can count as a hit.

What have you guys heard.
