Fire at Play-Rite
By Douglas Henderson

Robin Pratt 'phoned me a few minutes ago, about a call he had concerning a major fire at the Play-Rite Music Roll Co. factory building.

The company lost the Word Roll stenciling machine, their roll inventory and Play-Rite production masters, the huge paper supply and other equip- ment, but fortunately all the roll music roll perforators were in a separate property on the other side of Turlock, California.

According to Robin another stencil device will be invented, and it might take a year for the company to start up again. No Artcraft Master Rolls were there at the time; the three-year-inventory in the Maine storage building should carry us through this period. Up to now Play-Rite has done all the duplicating for us.

Regards in haste,
Douglas
