Seek: 20-key Organ Rolls
By Herbert Miller

I have a customer who owns a 20-note barrel organ who is after some more rolls for it. The instrument was made from a kit in the 1980s, supplied by Hofbauer, Gottingen, stock number 31/111. I believe that this 20-note instrument takes the same rolls as the 26-note barrel organ also sold by Hofbauer.

The spool ends screw into the flanges and have small hexagonal pins which drive the roll. These pins are plastic, and with use they round off. We are therefore trying to get a supply of these ends. Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thank-you.

[ Our subscriber Wolfgang Brommer, of Jaeger & Brommer Orgelbau,
[ can provide you with 20-note "Notenrollen" for your organ, and
[ he can probably help you with the Hofbauer flanges & pins, too.
[ Send email to <jaegerbrommer@t-online.de>. Also see the article
[ in Digest 970125.

[ Another organbuilder in our group who can help is Robert Hopp,
[ also in Germany, at <Robert.Hopp@Quercus-Hopp.com> Good luck!
