Marshall and Wendell Piano Pedigree
By Marc Finlen

Good Day, Robbie suggested that I post some info on my piano and perhaps those of you out there with some knowledge might be able to provide some info.

The piano was built by Marshall & Wendell, Albany, NY. Serial No. 79447. The mechanical parts seems to be in good working order, the pedals pump, the bellows appear sound; I can hand-turn the gears, the levers appear to function, etc. The piano case seems structurally sound, no cracks, all the keys when struck produce sound (needs tuning though!), several keys need new "ivory", some of the felt pads need replacing. I believe the case falls into the console category (54 inches high).

Our first priority to get the piano playable, then tackle the player part. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

PS: I've been reading the past couple days worth of digests. For the demographic survey:

[ Sounds like you have a winner, Marc. Let's see now what the techs
[ say about it. -- Robbie
