Hi Folks, I continue to steal MMD member's approaches to rebuilding
automatic playing instruments. Some of the tips are a pleasant surprise
to me, even after 35 years of rebuilding everything except the kitchen
sink. (And I am a terrible plumber.)
To the point: I have a friend (without computer) who is selling his
player piano and collection of 400 rolls. The instrument is a --
Leonard and Company Cabinet Grand player piano, Serial number 132576.
The veneer is generally OK but will take some work. The instrument plays
weakly and likely needs a complete rebuild. My friend is asking $500 for
the machine but the real gem in what he has is likely the 400 rolls that
are priced separately (to be sold separately). This roll collection is a
50-50 assortment of more recent recuts and vintage old rolls. Almost all
are in good condition boxes with titles. I suspect an offer of $500 for
the rolls will take them all but any offer will be considered.
If there is any interest, please contact Victor Janvier directly (after
5 PM EST) at (302) 998-9688 in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. Thanks.
With best regards to all,
Rick Cooley, Hockessin , Delaware
