Air Valves from Ragtime Automated Music
By Pete Woodworth

Greetings, all.

In a recent flier from Ragtime, there are some photos which show the little pneumatic valves. These little $5 valves appear to be about the size of a thimble and are intended to be inserted inline for the purposes of MIDI *playback* only. They operate on 9-14 volts dc.

You still need to provide your own "MIDI-IN" processor board, of which there are several available, as you know. By using John Wale's low cost MIDI board, MIDI upgrades can be relatively low cost. How does Ragtime's $5/per note valve compare to others? Someone please run some tests and let us know how the Ragtime valves perform.

For more information about "MIDI-IN" boards, please see my page at:

Cheers. Pete Woodworth
