Naming Gem Roller Organ Cobs
By Nancy Fratti

Hi!

Just back from the MusicBox/Phono swap meet in Bound Brook, NJ. WOW!
Great selling AND buying!!! Had one of my best shows ever... and met
Richard Dutton (see yesterday's MMD). What a memory he has! I had a
Gem roller organ with me to sell... and a selection of 5 cobs. Four of
the five cobs had no title... 3 of those were hymns which, while
different titles, sounded very similar. Rich played the untitled cobs
and not only told me the titles, but the numbers of the cobs...all
without even looking them up!!!!! To say the least, I was MOST
impressed! Phenomenal!

I also had one cob that he didn't... he proposed a trade for that disc
for one of his duplicates and, of course, I accepted. What a treat to
be able to add to his most extensive library!

Scott Currier wrote MMD today asking for help on identifying his
untitled cobs... he HAS to send a recording of them to Rich and I KNOW
he'll have no trouble identifying them! Rich's address is:

    Richard Dutton
    16 Bloomfield Way
    Llewellyn Park
    West Orange NJ 07052 USA

Perhaps Scott might have a cob to add to Rich's library!

ENJOY!
