I just returned from a Landon Lecture by Doris Kearns Goodwin and it
was fantastic!!!  (You may remember her from Ken Burns' "Baseball"
series on PBS or the MacNeil-Lehrer Report).  If you ever get a chance
to see her speak--go!!  She's an excellent speaker, well worth your
time.

Anyway, one of the reporters at the lecture was Matt Moline from the
Topeka Capital-Journal, who wrote the story about Parker carousels.  I
was able to talk with him and tell him how much the MMD enjoyed his
story, and that I had sent several copies of his article to other
people around the country.  It's great when you can put a face with a
name, and tell someone in person how much their work is appreciated.
