Carola Solo Inner Player
By Herbert Miller

I bought one of these a few years ago without realizing that it was
incomplete. The tracker bar had also been drilled to fit a tracking
system. Not knowing exactly what to do and preferring orginality in
instruments I left it aside.

Last year someone came into my shop and said he had ten player actions he
wanted to sell and would I be interested. I bought them and amongst them
was a complete action the same as mine for the Solo Carola. I couldn't
believe my luck. It was also in extremely good condition.

As a matter of interest, these actions were removed from player pianos by
order of a large Melbourne music store. Any actions that were not
operating were simply removed and the pianos sold as ex-players. These
ten actions were removed over a two year period. The person who sold
them to me was called into the store each time to remove the actions but
couldn't come at the idea of throwing them away. We have since become
good friends.
