I want to incorporate an old Vibraharp as one of the solo instruments in
a large orchestrion I'm building.

For those who can't place this instrument, it is the keyboard instrument
on which was played "The Girl From Ipanima."  They're really neat! But
they have an old tube amplifier which I wasn't able to buy, and I
discovered too late that the RCL shaping circuits are in those old
amplifiers!  So woe is me.  I have the key action and tuned bar thing,
and when they are amplified, all you hear is "plink, plink, plink."  It
just doesn't sound "Young and tan and Lovely" and "when she passes the
boys she passes says 'ahhhh.' " and all that stuff.  She needs her RC.

Does anybody have an idea how this might be done?

 [ old Deagan Vibraphone for years, with the rotating butterfly throttles,
 [ but I've not heard of a version with an amplifier.  Can you give us
 [ more details?  What is the microphone or sound transducer like?
 [ Is it a capacitance pick-up?  Does your Vibraharp have the long
 [ resonators and rotating throttles, or is it more like the orchestral
 [ cabinet Celesta (which sinply plays "plink, plink!" from a piano-style
