Death of Peter Churchard
By Melvyn Wright

It is with deep sadness that I have to report the death of Peter
Churchard, the founder of the British Organ Grinders Association (BOGA).
Peter died on the night of Friday 4th July. He had been diagnosed with
an incurable illness earlier in the year, and had tragically been given
only a few months to live.

Ever since he set up BOGA towards the end of 1991 he remained the main
driving force behind the club, and was the Secretary, and Editor of all
the publications. He has probably done more than anyone in the UK to
further the interests of organ grinders, by bringing them together
through the association. On a personal level, I knew him as a gentle and
kind man who never had a bad word to say about anybody. To say that he
will be sorely missed by organ grinders all over the world is a gross
understatement. His wife and family have our deepest sympathy.

[ Thanks, Melvyn, for bearing the news to us. -- Robbie
