Are Old Music Rolls Worth Preserving?
By Walt Carroll

Hmm, another case of preserving our musical heritage!!! *

I suggest that he sell/give the uninteresting fixed or fixable rolls to
his favorite local music roll store or auction. Fools like me might just
find a roll that is intriguing and want to fix it. Dull and uninterest-
ing is certainly in the ear of the beholder! I find that I enjoy the
older rolls more than the new ones. They have more 'character' and seem
to have more music (play longer) than new ones. Cost cutting or lack of
pride?

To answer Bill's question: Yes. Just because I like the older ones.

The unfixable will be just as unfixable to someone else; those could
be used as packaging material for the fragile stuff Bill is moving to
California!

* My wife and I adopted the phrase "preserving our musical heritage" from
  Steve Harris. Thanx Steve
