Convert Artrio-Angelus into Duo-Art
By Terry Smythe

For quite a number of years, I've owned a 1919 Bradbury upright with an
Artrio-Angelus reproducing player action within it. The piano is a
simple plain case upright with little going for it other than the rolls
I have for it. With my family having no interest in my collection, time
has come to get on with shrinkage.

It seems likely that whomever ultimately acquires this piano will not
appreciate its rarity, and in fact quickly become discouraged with the
inability to acquire its even rarer rolls. Over the years, I've occas-
ionally heard that it is possible to somehow modify an Artrio-Angelus
action such that it can play Duo-Art rolls. If that be true, I may be
able to make this piano more acceptable for some future owner. Certainly
Duo-Art rolls are much more plentiful.

Does anybody know if such a modification is possible? Has anyone done
it? If so, who?

If this be a possible modification, it will make it much easier to
dispose of both the piano and the rolls separately. The rolls of course
are aimed first at Wayne's conversion project, then on to some needy
owner.

Thoughts of others on this conversion will be appreciated.
