I have been almost overwhelmed with responses to my broken screw query.
I am very grateful to everybody who took the trouble to respond.  This
is why the MMD is such a great medium.  In the past I've written letters
to the AMICA Bulletin about various topics and waited months for a
response which never came.  Thanks again everybody; that piano will
play on.
