IRC Chat Software
By Jon Page

I downloaded the software from this site: http://www.mirc.co.uk

Once installed, the setup window shows IRC Servers; choose a Starlink
connection. When connection is established, another window will appear.
A list of conferences will be there. At the cursor, enter #pianotech
(if that is where you wish to go), and add that to the list.

Tuesday nights 9 PM-1AM EDT is when piano technicians converge. The
reason I suggested #p-tech is to get people acquainted with the software.
It is not the spot to be discussing music boxes during the piano tech's
rendezvous.

If there is another time you wish to convene you could also do that.
Perhaps a different conference could be chosen. Something like
#mechanical_music. A different IRC server is another option.

For those with WWW access, complete information about the IRC channel can
be found on the excellent "Official #Pianotech WWW Page":

    http://www.clandjop.com/~dkvander/ircpiano.html

There may be info there for AOLers to access IRC also. I am not well
versed in this medium, I just downloaded the software and clicked my way
around until I got there. Beyond that, I'm lost. John Musselwhite could
shed light on this.
