Jack Schott and "Fort Worth Organ Factory"
By Bryan Cather

Matthew Caulfield in Digest 970815 asked about the "Fort Worth Organ
Factory". I live close enough to "Foat Wuth" to do your research,
Matthew, but a little more info would help enormously. In particular:

1. Can you give me a ballpark figure for when this company would have
been in business?

2. Is it probable that Jack Schott lived in Fort Worth?

3. Are you sure that "Schott" is spelled correctly <grin> ?

The reason I ask the first two questions is because they would be easy to
answer and might lead to further information. The Fort Worth Public
Library has an excellent local history section, including City
Directories and phone books back to at least 1910.

The last question is prompted by the peculiar brand of humor generated
at the piano tuning school I attended. We had two very unscrupulous and
completely fictitious instructors that taught students "the wrong way"
to do things. They were "Jack Legg" and "Jack Schitt". (Robbie & Jody:
publish this at your own risk; edit as you see fit!)

[ I've oft' been told that I don't know either of them! ;) -- Robbie
