Ludwig Player Action
By Dan Armstrong

In regards to Eddie Fulmer's question on the Ludwig Player action:
I have no literature on it, but as I recall, it's very similar to the
Cable Co. actions which also use a leather gasket between the deck and
the pneumatic. This was an attempt to make the pneumatics more separable
from the deck for repairs.

If I don't miss my guess, the stack is also screwed together with leather
gaskets between rather than being glued. According to the 1926 Presto
Buyer's Guide, all parts including the valves are made accessible from
the front so the technician does not have to remove the action to affect
minor repairs, so the pneumatics also are faced the same as in the Cable
Co. actions.

It's been a long time since I worked on a Ludwig, but I hope this can be
of some help.
