Could someone give me some tips for prolonging the life of roll paper
before it becomes brittle?  Should paper rolls not be kept in some kind
of waxed wrapper or box designed to keep the paper at a stable humidity
level.  Should a brittle roll be placed in a humidity-controlled humidor
for a given time for gentle re-hydration, before unrolling?  Would a
controlled environment (along the principles of a humidor) for storage
of an entire collection be feasible?

I covet the helpful advice of you who are more experienced.
