I've got one of them new-fangled pianos, a Yamaha DC-5 (the "D"
indicating a Disklavier model in a C-5 or 6'7" grand, Mark II model) and
it is a highly-prized possession.  I also have a wonderful Ampico A
Marshall & Wendell 5' baby grand equipped with some special equipment --
Wayne Stahnke's CC-3 tape playing device that is attached to the Ampico
mechanism.  Also in my stable is a multiple-system reproducing Vorsetzer.

The Disklavier is the very best of the new range of players, I believe,
and its capabilities are wonderfully broad.  The recording feature on
Disklavier beats the other systems by a long shot, and the playback is
superior, from what I can see, to the Pianomation or PianoDisc systems.

Over a two year period, with lots and lots of use,  I have experienced
virtually no problems that could not be resolved quickly and at very low
cost by my piano technician.

I'm building up my music library in several ways, by buying the complete
catalogs of PianoMania, Live Performance, Boris Music, as well as
everything that PG Music produces on Disklavier format.  That stuff is
excellent and low cost.  I also purchased at least half of the Yamaha
Disklavier library.  Also, I have been transferring Duo-Art expression
rolls onto Disklavier floppy discs via my Vorsetzer with very
satisfactory results, and I am about to do the same with Ampico and
Welte rolls.
