FS: Carpenter Reed Organ
By Hal Davis

Hi Robbie, I have located an unusual reed organ in the Jackson, MI area.
It looks for all the world as if it was a regular old full-size upright
piano. The name of it is Carpenter. It has two levers at either end of
the keyboard. It uses a separate suction box, a Motor Player Corp. unit,
that appears to operate from house current. The case appears to be in
very good condition. The label inside has a 1900 date and seems to have
been made in Brattleboro, Mass.

It isn't an automatic player. It appears to be hand played only. The
lady that owns it wants $300.00 for it. That seems a fair price for
this instrument. If someone is interested in it I can supply the name,
tel. number and address if they e-mail me.

I tried to put this in the Reed Organ list but they won't let me in as
I'm not a member. Perhaps someone on the MMD list would be interested.
I wonder how many 'finds' they've missed by not accepting info from
'outsiders." If you think this is suitable for the MMD you can put it
in and I'll field any calls.

I already am packed to the gills with organs and I don't have room for it
here or I would grab it up right now myself.
