From what I have been told -- from former workers at Ampico in East
Rochester, New York --  pneumatic boards could be taken home by workers
and done at their leisure as piece work.  They were paid so much per
pneumatic.  In those days most likely it was one or two cents per
pneumatic.

I can envision that the women took them home and worked on a card table
in their living room, or at the kitchen table, gluing pneumatic cloth on
the boards as they listened to their favorite radio programs.  Hopefully
"The Ampico Hour".
