Restoration Levels
By Peter Coggins

Maybe we should have a glossary of terms for the restoration of players.

"Partly restored" should mean just that, not fully finished, but not
ruined either.

There is of course a million level of "partly restored" from just the
bellow set and air motor to everything except the pinblock.

What is the definition of "fully restored"? And when does it become the
case of 'jacking up the number plates and changing the car in the
middle'?

The player that Bruce Clarke mentions is not "restored" or "repaired"
at all, the term for that is "butchered" and any honest repairer or
hobbyist would not do this. This is the work of the "con men" of the
industry.

"Just getting it going again" could be another level as long as this
does not harm the player in any way.

Correct restoration procedures can be done over many years and in
various stages as long as they are done the right way.
