Player Piano for National Yiddish Book Center
By Larry Greenfield

To all those that can help: The National Yiddish Book Center (NYBC) has
decided to acquire an 88-note player piano with MIDI for their center. I
have been assisting, but am finding that my knowledge of players and MIDIs
is a bit lacking and I am concerned about misdirecting Mr. Lansky and the
NYBC.

Can anyone out there better guide Mr. Lansky? He would like to acquire a
high quality 88-note player piano with bench, preferably an upright, it
does not need to be a reproducer, he would prefer oak, and it should be
upgradeable to a MIDI system, as he may wish to play Yiddish music almost
the entire time that the center is open to the public (1000 hrs --
1530 hrs, Sunday -- Thursday), and the cost should be reasonable and fair.

The NYBC is in Amherst, MA, so we need the assistance of an East Coast
expert and/or kind and helpful soul. The NYBC phone number (Mr. Lansky)
is 1-800-535-3595; fax 1-413-256-4900, email alansky@bikher.org. Mr.
Lansky's excellent assistant is Michelle.

I plan to donate my six 88-note rolls of Yiddish music in 1998. Any
assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Shalom

Larry Greenfield
