Pianomation Maintenance
By Andy Taylor

Hi Will, Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Been "buried" in
roll orders. As you may recall, I have a 88-note Pianomation unit in
my Foster player. The Pianomation gets pretty heavy use. Since I want
to protect our investment, I have wondered about the eventual wear in
the solenoids, plunger and chamber. Would you recommend some type of
dry lubricant that would reduce friction, and that wouldn't gum up?

My question about the record strip is simply this: is there some type
of optical device that would operate the strip? There must be a more
accurate way to "play" the record strip than those pesky rubber
devices!
